Devin Walker and Trez McBean opened Monka Brewing Co. in Shoreline, Washington after falling in love with the architecture of the building.
Devin is the master brewer of the Monka team and the location is a dream come true for him. As an inventor with several patents to his name, Devin most recently comes from the world of commercial research and development for the coffee industry. He’s now the brains and brawn behind brewing Monka’s beer. Devin likes to experiment with his recipes and techniques and has high standards when it comes to Monka’s beer.
Monka was named after Trez’s mother who passed away in August of 2017. Her first grandkid named her Monka when she couldn’t say “grandma”. It is a totally made-up word that she loved! Monka Brewing Co. will always be experimenting with rotating brews, making new small batches to keep something new on the horizon. Expect perfectly balanced, high-quality beer in a clean, welcoming environment.
